Then I recruited a 100 Nord peasants to train as my gate-breakers and started grinding them up into Huscarls. However, this all changed when I captured my first castle and was able to garrison all my troops there. I enjoyed the early game dynamic of cavalry only, grinding on Steppe Bandits and the like, and continued to rise through the ranks of the Khergit aristocracy with pure Khergit troops.
